Consultations with Liz Jowett
Liz's expertise lie in her ability to connect with individuals and understand the challenges they are facing through a holistic lense.
Using psychological counselling and psychotherapy, Liz works collaboratively with individuals to explore your thoughts, feelings and beliefs in a comfortable and safe therapeutic environment. Using a range of processes including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt, Emotion-Focussed Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Attachment/Systems Approach - we uncover and identify areas of concern, and patterns and themes to encourage deep change and healing. By nurturing our psychological well-being in this way, the therapeutic process becomes an empowering journey for an individual to create a more meaningful and balanced life, being more aligned with the truth of who they are.
Liz also takes a psychodynamic perspective whereby individuals have the opportunity to explore their formative years and their interpretation of those experiences. This is done in a safe environment and gives individuals a space to understand how they may have come to be the person they are today; why they exhibit certain behaviours, how their past experiences may have impacted them and continue to play out in their day-to-day environments and relationships. Having greater insight can allow individuals to integrate their past emotional experiences and empower them to engage in more connected and meaningful relationships, with self and others. Additionally, with a greater understanding of self, individuals may make healthier, more adaptive decisions about their behaviour and their future.
